Jackpot (2008) (S02E07)

English This time, it felt like revisiting the first season. The original wit and lightness were back in full force, treating us to a delightful blend of humor and captivating investigation. The case was as entertaining as they come, and I was glad that I steer clear of lottery after witnessing the potential horrors of winning... 4*+ ()

Black Friday (2008) (S02E08)

English Episode ten took a dive compared to the previous one. The mall setting didn't grab my attention, and the melodramatic ending felt completely unnecessary. ()

Badge Bunny (2008) (S02E09)

English Episode nine left much to be desired. Even with Christina Hendricks making an appearance, I was leaning towards a two-star rating. However, a single scene managed to salvage it. That hilarious moment with all four of them before the intervention with the boss of the dealers had me in stitches. 3*- ()

Evil... and His Brother Ziggy (2009) (S02E10)

English While the investigation into the deputy sheriff's death didn't particularly engage me, it was the injection of humor that lifted it up a notch for me, earning an extra star. Moments like the venison goulash, the dynamic between Dani and Tidwell, and the peculiar dinner at Crews' place were certainly highlights that made it worth the watch. ()

Canyon Flowers (2009) (S02E11)

English While the previous episode managed to maintain the quality humor, this one fell short in my eyes. The storyline felt forced, stretching credibility to its limits, and any attempt at humor completely missed the mark for me. I found little to enjoy in this episode. ()

Trapdoor (2009) (S02E12)

English Despite my apprehensions following the previous episode, I found this episode to be a significant improvement. The storyline held my interest, with Ted and Charles Crews Sr. injecting some much-needed humor. Moreover, the ending didn't disappoint. However, I still think three stars are enough. ()

Re-Entry (2009) (S02E13)

English The episode was decent, but it didn't quite reach the heights of the first season. While it had its moments, particularly the dramatic storyline involving the return of the projectile to its original owner, overall, it fell short of expectation. ()

Mirror Ball (2009) (S02E14)

English The episode started off promisingly, but as it progressed, I found myself increasingly disengaged with the uninspiring plot. The ending felt forced and only highlighted how the creators have once again stripped away the series' comedic value. ()

I Heart Mom (2009) (S02E15)

English This episode fell a bit flat. It wasn't a total disaster, but there were too many dull moments. I can't help but feel that the creators are stretching it out too much. ()

Hit Me Baby (2009) (S02E16)

English It seems like the creators remembered what made the first season so much stronger and delivered an episode that blends humor with an intriguing investigation case. It's just a shame that such episodes aren't the norm in the second season. ()

Shelf Life (2009) (S02E17)

English The seventeenth episode wasn't terrible, but it didn't hit the mark for me, mainly because the creators made a huge misstep with Dani Reese's departure. With Crews left on his own, a significant chunk of the humor that made the series shine is now missing. It's a disappointing move in my book. ()

3 Women (2009) (S02E18)

English Ugh... It's like the creators are deliberately trying to get on my nerves. I complained in my last review about Dani Reese being sidelined, and instead of bringing her back, they've shoved in a totally inadequate replacement. It's painfully obvious how everyone's trying so hard to make the new character funny, but... ()

5 Quarts (2009) (S02E19)

English I was amused by the explanation of how death can be found in the freezer. But that was about it for the fun part. The breakup of the Crews-Reese duo took away a vital element of humor from the series. Even Captain Tidwell's courtship dances brought some laughs, but now it's just fast reading. 3*- ()

Initiative 38 (2009) (S02E20)

English I did notice a slight improvement this time around, and to my surprise, there were moments that I genuinely enjoyed, especially considering my disappointment with the second season. However, things took a downturn when the creators opted for a more serious tone, which didn't quite resonate with me. ()

One (2009) (S02E21)

English The finale of the second season left me somewhat underwhelmed. It felt like the creators shifted gears abruptly, aiming for drama or even thriller territory in a series that previously provided laughs and relaxation. Personally, I didn't fully buy into this shift. While I appreciate the attempt to explore Crews' darker past, I couldn't help but miss the humor and fruit. ()
