Toy Story 3 met my expectations about halfway. I suppose I was expecting it to be a bit more daring and I consider the "Prison Break" a severely missed opportunity. Those few winks at older viewers left me quite calm, so I spent over an hour admiring how good the world looks in HD. Then the toys joined hands and I got an emotional punch that brought tears to my eyes that lasted until everyone was sitting on the lawn. In terms of its runtime, though, it seems pretty short to me. A wonderful homage to the toy world, to the classic Hollywood style (which works much better here than in many other films for adults and goes much further than any genre parody, and it’s also more realistic than most fiction productions). Great Shape Barbie and Animal Loving Ken rock on all fronts. This is nostalgia in which every minute and every idea works... (2010-09-02)

The most mature (but not the best) Pixar, this time following in the footsteps of the runaway classics whose clichés it playfully and imaginatively plays with. It’s almost surprising how much it has in "feeling" in common with Svěrák's Kooky, and not just because of the pink Teddy-bear. (2010-06-19)

It is probably because animation has made incredible strides forward, both in terms of story and visuals, that this "Toy Story" appealed to me the most out of all three. Furthermore, even though it seems like a typical script, there are interesting twists, sometimes unexpected, and especially intriguing new characters. Of course, the old favorites are not missing either. Pixar is still in great form after all these years. (2014-04-10)
