Toy Story 3

It is probably because animation has made incredible strides forward, both in terms of story and visuals, that this "Toy Story" appealed to me the most out of all three. Furthermore, even though it seems like a typical script, there are interesting twists, sometimes unexpected, and especially intriguing new characters. Of course, the old favorites are not missing either. Pixar is still in great form after all these years. (2014-04-10)

A wonderful homage to the toy world, to the classic Hollywood style (which works much better here than in many other films for adults and goes much further than any genre parody, and it’s also more realistic than most fiction productions). Great Shape Barbie and Animal Loving Ken rock on all fronts. This is nostalgia in which every minute and every idea works... (2010-09-02)

A perfect conclusion to the trilogy. Dark but at the same time sensitive, full of references and jokes. Some of my worst nightmares came to life so clearly... the winking baby, the monkey with the cymbals (from a short story by Stephen King) and that ending, that ending. They really had me scared and I seriously thought that it wouldn’t end well. The moment when I stopped telling myself that this is just a kids’ movie about toys and just waited to see how it turned out. And the final farewell is one of the most moving scenes that I have ever seen. So long, Woody, Buzz and the rest. (2010-10-15)

Toy Story 3 met my expectations about halfway. I suppose I was expecting it to be a bit more daring and I consider the "Prison Break" a severely missed opportunity. Those few winks at older viewers left me quite calm, so I spent over an hour admiring how good the world looks in HD. Then the toys joined hands and I got an emotional punch that brought tears to my eyes that lasted until everyone was sitting on the lawn. In terms of its runtime, though, it seems pretty short to me. Toys make childhood childhood. Can you imagine life without toys? And can toys life without us? This touching story from the fantastic world of toys will move, delight, and make you laugh... Proof that imagination has no limits. My enthusiasm for Toy Story has not diminished even after the 3rd instalment, which was no less interesting than the previous two. (2010-10-30)
