Hans Richter's experimental film – not an abstract one in this case, but with real objects and people in the leading roles – depicts a "rebellion of the objects" (Richter) in a surreal manner: doors opening and closing by themselves, hats travelling through landscapes without a wearer, revolvers multiplying and threatening people are just a few of the objects which develop a life of their own and populate this film's cheerful dream world. English Hans Richter switched from abstract animation to Dada and gave us, the audience, a view of a morning during which everyday objects come to life in a chaotic way. But, as is the case everywhere, at the stroke of twelve (here, noon, not midnight) everything returns to order. ()
