The writer happens to return to his home-country following a ten-year stay in the USA exactly when Hitler marches into Austria. Listening to his intuition, he decides to turn back and move westward again, this time trying his luck in Britain. Thanks to a British film-mogul of Hungarian origin, the writer finds employment in the film profession and even wins the love of an actress. Yet when the unfaithfulness of the lady of his heart is revealed, he returns home again in despair. Just in time not to miss the "Auschwitz Express". It is his sense of humour which helps him survive in the forced labour camp. But nothing helps the members of his family. (official distributor synopsis)
