Plots(1)

Inka, a solitary poor girl, is employed in an artificial flower shop that belongs to her aunt Anna Hurychová. Inka confesses to her friend Božka that her love affair with the successful actor Viktor was not without its consequences. The selfish and conceited Viktor is pampered by female admirers, chief among them his mother, a successful writer of girls' stories. The latter firmly opposes Inka as a potential bride, even though in her books rich men always marry poor girls. Viktor takes no further interest in the girl. After an argument with her aunt, Inka finds herself out of a job. The only job she can find after many days looking is that of a live model in a swimming costume in a department store display window. The advertising gimmick causes great controversy and Inka finds herself once again out of a job. In her destitution Božka and her brother Ferda look after her. Ferda is secretly in love with Inka. When she gives birth to a baby boy her aunt, who after all has a heart of gold, is finally reconciled with her. The writer Kotrbová-Židlická is prepared to commit her grandson to a good family to bring him up. Inka accepts Ferda's offer of marriage and finds new happiness. (official distributor synopsis)
