Don't Look in the Closet is an homage to the atmospheric slasher films of the late 70s and early 80s. The film is inspired by the home invasion sub-genre, such as the Halloween movies, while also embracing the campy charm a la the Friday the 13th franchise. This results in a horror comedy that engages viewers with unexpected twists and turns, while evoking a sense of nostalgia for the era that inspired it. (Cinequest Festival)
