The feature film Stepne was co-produced in Slovakia and tells the story of a few days in the life of a man who comes to a small Ukrainian village to take care of his dying mother. Once respected by his family and society, he is now tired and disillusioned. A man whose life is driven by inertia. In the forgotten world of a small village, surrounded by his dying mother, his brother and a few locals, he feels life inside him again for a while. The film is set amidst a beautiful Ukrainian landscape, full of disappearing villages and a growing sense of alienation amongst the people of post-Soviet society. (MFF Cinematik Piešťany)
