Season 1 (2022) (S01)

English Finally, a series about relationships that doesn't make me want to pierce my eardrums and gouge my eyes out. Why? Because the script doesn't unfairly bash men for their supposed lack of empathy (which had been purposely stifled in us - maybe not so much for the younger crowd, but I sure as hell remember what I was told at home or school whenever I felt like crying). This show gives both men and women their due, striking a perfect balance that kept me hooked as well as giving me some good laughs. / Lesson learned: I'm getting allergic to the word 'toxic'. It seems to pop up every time someone dares to go against the grain and speak their mind. ()

Deconstructing (2022) (S01E01)

English I decided to switch gears from an incredibly brutal Spanish series and dive into a Spanish comedy series for some relaxation, and let me tell you, I made the right choice. The four machos are great, although I'm still trying to figure out why they're considered alpha males when it's clear their three partners and one daughter run the show. But that's not the point. What matters is I had an absolute blast, and even the rocket scene didn't feel cheesy — it had me laughing out loud. The ending of the interview with the teacher? Priceless :-D / Lesson learned: Kids have a knack for putting adults in some precarious situations. ()

Toxic Masculinity (2022) (S01E03)

English The highlight of this episode was Esther, making me bump up the rating to five stars. This Pyrenean Peninsula humor is right up my alley, and I'm genuinely hoping the creators keep up this level of enthusiasm and inventiveness in the upcoming episodes. It'd be a real letdown if they didn't. / Lesson learned: Always read the fine print on the package insert. ()

Ibizan Herbs (2022) (S01E04)

English The fourth episode didn't quite have me laughing as much as the three before it. But for a series centered around guys, I must give credit to the creators for crafting some quality female characters. Daniela and Luz are great, but Esther is the one who really stands out. I had a blast with this episode. / Lesson learned: Always vomit facing Ibiza. ()

Sensitive Heteroflexibles (2022) (S01E05)

English The fifth episode left me with a similar feeling to the previous one. The central quartet continues to be a source of great entertainment, and the trio of female characters isn't far behind, often stealing the spotlight. However, I can't help but think Santi's daughter Álex could move out, as her character doesn't seem to have much to offer. It would be refreshing to see more humor injected back into the series. / Lesson learned: There are plenty of dangerous professions out there. ()

Look What You've Done (2022) (S01E06)

English My slightly declining good mood got a much-needed boost while watching this episode, which earned it five stars from me. After the last two episodes, I was worried the creators were losing their original touch, but now it feels like they're back on the right track. Once again, I had a fantastic time. Esther didn't steal the spotlight this time, it was Santi this time. / Lesson learned: Never underestimate your opponent. ()

When Was the Last Time You Cried? (2022) (S01E07)

English It seems like in the first half of the series, it was mainly the women who carried the torch, while the men took over in the second half. The Spanish creators have once again crafted an excellent plot with great dialogue, and I simply couldn't help but enjoy it. / Lesson learned: Don't let go of what you love too cheaply. ()

Just When We Were Doing So Well (2022) (S01E08)

English It's not that it wasn't fun, but given my past experiences with this group, I felt they could have delivered even more laughs. Raúl's detective work was enjoyable, but at times, it felt like there wasn't much else happening besides that. However, Luis was absolutely perfect, and whenever he dramatically sighs about Esther's betrayal, I can't help but burst into laughter. Sorry, Luis... / Lesson learned: Don't be afraid to swim against the tide. ()

The Moses of Sexist Pigs (2022) (S01E09)

English In the previous episode, it felt like the humor was a bit lacking, but the creators hit the right notes this time, and I have to give them credit for that. I'm not one to romanticize the past or yearn for time travel, but I must admit that the present time, with everyone sharing everything online, doesn't quite suit me. / Lesson learned: Uncertainty can really stir a person up. ()

Either the Course Is a Failure, or We Are (2022) (S01E10)

English The first season's finale left me thoroughly satisfied. The creators held the story's reins firmly, avoiding the usual pitfalls. They skillfully tied up all loose ends, paving the way for the second season while managing to keep me thoroughly entertained throughout. / Lesson learned: If you want to win at hide and seek, be ready for potential lifelong trauma. ()

Season 2 (2024) (S02)

English The creators handled the trending topics with absolute excellence, making me laugh out loud. Once again, I found myself thoroughly entertained by their comedic take on political correctness, male chauvinism, feminism, homophobia, gender, social networks, and many other issues. If there's a third season, count me in. / Lesson learned: The world is a strange place, full of strange beings. ()

I Feel Kind of Deconstructed (2024) (S02E01)

English The kickoff of the second season was solid, not surprising given what the Spanish creators brought in the previous one. I didn't go all out with a five-star rating, knowing the show can hit even funnier notes. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast; it's just that I'm ready for bigger laughs. / Lesson learned: Is it inappropriate to liken a body-positive woman to a whale? Whales are pretty amazing creatures after all... ()

You Have Dreams? (2024) (S02E02)

English From start to finish, I found myself calmly chuckling, thoroughly enjoying the humor more than in the previous one. Little did I know the surprise the Spanish creators had in store for the final moments. The ending was truly hilarious and had me laughing out loud. It's a solid five-star rating from me. / Lesson learned: Take your time with decisions, even when the pressure is on. ()

The Other Way Around (2024) (S02E03)

English Well, the third episode didn't exactly explode with events and humor all the way through, but I had an absolute blast and thoroughly enjoyed it anyway. At first, I wondered if I was developing schizophrenia, but then I realized with relief that a schizophrenic person wouldn't be aware of their own condition. It was Raúl who kept me in high spirits throughout. / Lesson learned: Never give up and always defend yourself! 5*- ()

Ask Before You Enter (2024) (S02E04)

English The second season is proving to be just as delightful as the first. The central quartet is spot-on, the female cast holds its own, the dialogues are sharp, the humor abundant, and I'm thoroughly enjoying every bit of it. Sure, I could nitpick a few flaws in this episode, but honestly, I'm not interested in finding faults when the finale once again left me in awe. / Lesson learned: Even in the hospital, informed consent is signed before the procedure. ()

Don't Go Falling in Love (2024) (S02E05)

English I'll take a wild guess here: if this were an American series or a BBC production, my rating of it would have been much lower. Yet, the Spanish creators seem to grasp the essence of comedy — above all, it must be funny. They boldly and subtly tackle male chauvinism, but what's refreshing is that the women in this tale aren't painted as supernatural, flawless beings. They get their fair share of critique too (take the trio of screenwriters, stereotypically perfect from this angle). Yes, it's still possible to find a series about relationships that I enjoy and eagerly anticipate each new episode. / Lesson learned: I might not be one for biblical references, but there's something to be said about casting the first stone and the speck in the eye. ()

On a Monday? (2024) (S02E06)

English I'm shamelessly biased towards this series. It's just so refreshing to stumble upon a show that rises above the gray average in these dreary times. Lesson learned: We all know where that road paved with good intentions leads, don't we? ()

The Brotherhood (2024) (S02E07)

English I couldn't help but feel like I was holding out for a bit more humor, which this episode failed to deliver. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but it just didn't have that same intensity. Lesson learned: The truth can be a tough pill to swallow. ()

I'm Straight (2024) (S02E08)

English If I was craving more humor in the last episode, the creators delivered it in spades with the eighth episode. It's a real shame there aren't more series like this. / Lesson learned: More often than not, we're our own worst enemies. ()

What Does It Mean to Be a Woman? (2024) (S02E09)

English The ninth episode wasn't half bad, but the creators have proven time and again that they can do so much better. Sure, I had a good time throughout, but I felt like something was missing. Perhaps they have already spoiled me too much, but I couldn't help but think a little extra humor would have spiced things up. / Lesson learned: People are really weird. ()
