In the year 50 BC, ancient Gaul (France) is completely occupied by the Roman Empire - except for a small village, which holds out against the Roman invaders with the assistance of a magic potion which conveys superhuman strength, brewed by their druid. Finding out about the potion, a Roman Centurion kidnaps the druid to learn the secret of the potion, leaving the village's hero, Asterix, to save the day. (official distributor synopsis)
