Whang Cheol-Mean studied Media Studies in Mainz, and then graduated from cinematography department of Berlin Film school (DFFB) in 1996. His first feature film, FUCK HAMLET (1997) was screened at the Berlin International Film Festival. Whang Cheol-Mean has also been teaching at the Film Department of Sejong University. His next work – FRAKCHI / SPYING CAM (2004) participated in different festivals, including MIFF, and won a number of awards including The FIPRESCI Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
