Biography
Adam Driver made headlines in 2014 when it was announced that he would star in J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated "Star Wars: Episode VII" STAR with Harrison Ford. Additionally, Driver was cast in Martin Scorsese's "Silence," which also stars Andrew Garfield and Liam Neeson. His other projects include John Curran's "Tracks," with Mia Wasikowska, Jeff Nichols' "Midnight Special," with Kirsten Dunst, and Noah Baumbach's "While We're Young," with Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, and Ben Stiller.
Driver was seen in the Coen brothers' 2013 Academy Award nominated film "Inside Llewyn Davis." In 2012, Driver appeared in Steven Spielberg's Academy Award nominated "Lincoln," with Daniel Day-Lewis, which went on to make $275 million worldwide. That year, he also starred in Noah Baumbach's "Frances Ha," alongside Greta Gerwig and in 2011, Driver appeared in Clint Eastwood's critically acclaimed "J. Edgar," with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Driver appeared in the HBO's hit series "Girls," in which he stars opposite Lena Dunham. Driver plays Adam Sackler, Hannah's (Dunham's) mysterious, striking, and eccentric on-again, off-again boyfriend. In 2013, Driver's performance in "Girls" garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Additionally, the show won a 2013 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical.
Also on television, Driver appeared in HBO's 2010 Golden Globe nominated original movie "You Don't Know Jack," the biopic based on euthanasia advocate Jack Kevorkian, starring Al Pacino. Driver graduated from Juilliard in 2009 and is the co-founder of the non-profit organization AITAF (ARTS in the Armed Forces, Inc.).
