DALE DICKEY is a multi-talented actress with a diverse roster of credits that span studio and independent films to television and theater. In 2011, she won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress, and shared the Gotham Award for Best Ensemble, for her unforgettable performance in "Winter's Bone." Her other recent feature film credits include "Being Flynn," with Robert DeNiro, Paul Dano, and Julianne Moore; J.J. Abrams' "Super 8"; Clint Eastwood's "Changeling"; Sean Penn's "The Pledge"; Tony Scott's "Domino"; "A Perfect Getaway," and independent films including "The Journey of August King," "The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love," "Our Very Own," "Leaving Barstow," "Trailer Park of Terror," and "The Yellow Wallpaper." Upcoming films include "My Mother's Curse," with Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen; "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife," with Octavia Spencer; "Teddy Bears," with Bill Pullman and Melanie Lynskey; "Evidence," with Stephen Moyer; "Lost on Purpose," and "Tales of Everyday Magic."
On television, she joined the cast of "True Blood," as the matriarch of a family of werewolves. She appeared regularly on the series "My Name is Earl" portraying 'Patty, the Daytime Hooker,' a role she recently re-created on "Raising Hope." She has also had recurring roles on "Breaking Bad," "Sordid Lives," "Gilmore Girls," and "Christy." Her numerous guest star credits include "Two Broke Girls," "Law and Order: Los Angeles," "Weeds," "Criminal Minds," "Bones," "The Closer," "Cold Case," "CSI," "Numbers," "ER," "Frasier," and "The X-Files."
A veteran of the stage, her New York theatre credits includes Sir Peter Hall's Broadway production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (with Dustin Hoffman) and numerous works with Signature Theatre Company, Playwright's Horizons and Manhattan Punch Line's Improv Theatre. Regional credits include Denver Center Theatre, 3 seasons at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Chicago's Royal George, PaperMill Playhouse, and the Clarence Brown Theatre, where she recently played 'Blanche' in A STREETCAR NAME DESIRE, and will play Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD later this year. In Los Angeles, she has worked with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, Hudson Guild, Matrix and Zephyr theatres, and The Blank Theatre Company's Young Playwrights Festivals. She has also worked extensively with Texas playwright/director Del Shores, winning two L.A. Ovation awards for her work in his productions of SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES and THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF A TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE. Dickey was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee.
