Biography (1)

Edward Dmytryk was a prominent American director, who directed, among others, Under Age (1941), Crossfire (1947), The Caine Mutiny (1954), and Mirage (1965). One of the "Hollywood Ten", he was sentenced to prison for refusing to cooperate with the House Un-American Activities Committee but later recanted, a decision that had a lasting impact on his career.
