Zippy Kimundu

Biography

Zippy is a Kenyan filmmaker who has worked globally for over a decade on both fiction and non-fiction projects filmed in over 20 countries. In 2015, she was the 1st Assistant Editor in the Disney Film Queen of Katwe. Her films have screened internationally including Burnt Forest at PAFF 2014. She received nominations for Best Short Film and Best Documentary at the AMAA 2013 and won Best in Producing for Manilla Running. Her short film Mothers Song’ received a great review from Hollywood Director Oliver Stone during an NYU screening in Singapore. Zippy continues to work as an Independent Director as well as managing a film collective – www.afrofilmsinternational.com. She holds a Diploma in Mass Communication and a Masters in Fine Arts –Film from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts – Asia.
