Biography
Dieter Fahrer was born in 1958. He studied photography in Munich and worked among others with Felix Tissi, Daniel Schmid, Nicolas Humbert, and Werner Penzel. He made the documentaries Jour de nuit (2000, with Bernhard Nick), Que sera? (2004, special mention and SUISSIMAGE / SSA award received at Visions du Réel in Nyon), SMS from Shangri-La (2009, with Lisa Röösli) and Thorberg (2012, 3sat award at the Duisburger Filmwoche). Que sera? and Thorberg were nominated as best documentary by the Swiss Film Academy.
