Biography
Icelandic director, screenwriter and translator of literature Thorgeir Thorgeirson (1933–2003) studied directing at Prague's FAMU for two years. He fought for his vision of the cinema medium as an artform where the foundation was the documentary film in the years when Iceland was entering the television era. He did also pioneered the establishment of a film archive in Iceland and wrote many important articles on cinema.
