Biography
Arami Ullón (b. 1978, Asunción, Paraguay) was born during the long and barbaric dictatorship of Brigadier General Alfredo Stroessner. In Paraguay, she directed two independent short films, Ausencia de un nombre propio (1998) and Beckon (2000), and the stage play A Bizarre Matter of Love (2000). She also wrote a book of short stories, About Abuse and Other Relatives. Ullón spent a year on a scholarship awarded by the Boston Film and Video Foundation. She has also made music videos, television shows, and commercials for Latin American and European companies. She worked on the feature films El toque del oboe (1997) and Miami Vice (2006), and produced 18 cigarrillos y medio (2011). After working for Spain's Palma Pictures production company, she completed her first feature-length documentary, the strongly personal Cloudy Times.
