Biography

Ran Huang is a Chinese film director, screenwriter and acclaimed contemporary artist. He moved to the UK in 2001 to study Fine Art and has been primarily based in Europe since then. Huang is a multidisciplinary artist known primarily for his film and video work, whose practice also encompasses painting, sculpture, installation, drawing and performance. Huang made his debut as a filmmaker with his short film The Administration of Glory (2014). The film was selected in the Short Film Official Competition of the 67th Cannes International Film Festival. In 2015, he received the Katrin Cartlidge Foundation Award at Sarajevo Film Festival.
